Very Beautiful Authentic Talavera Handmade, Hand Painted, Multicolored Ceramic Pottery Spoon Rest/Holder Made by Very Skilled Mexican Artisans! When not using this beautiful item as a spoon rest you might hang it on your wall using the small hole for doing so at the top of the handle. Awesome Looking! This spoon rest is the LARGER one that is approximately 10" long by 1 1/4" high. NOTE that here other smaller sizes of spoon rests being sold, but this is the larger one that can handle anything from spoons to larger ladles. TALAVERA Talavera is a bit more expensive than the chemically treated mass manufactured dyed & treated clays that are available more cheaply from overseas. Talavera from Mexico only uses natural clays, it is 100% lead free & totally food safe. Talavera items are hand crafted in a process that takes 3 to 4 months and it's a risky business in that a piece can easily break at any time during the process. Out talavera products are also hand painted by skilled Mexican artisans and they go through 2 firings. The finished products are chip resistant, microwaveable, and can be cleaned easily in your dishwashers.
